Barry Jenkins’ If Beale Street Could Talk is a near-perfect success both as streetlight manifesto somewhere in the between grand statement of solidarity and as a gorgeously wrought, long-overdue story of black life and black love.

I still haven’t heard anything from these guys, but I’ll definitely check this out now that I’ve read your review.
